Brazilian Green Coffee Beans
Brazil Moreninhi Formosa Coffee is one of the few single origin Brazilian coffee beans recommended for espresso. Because these beans have a lower moisture content than many higher grown coffees it is recommended that they only be roasted to a dark “medium” roast (not as dark as the classic Vienna roast). A very dark roast for this bean will tend to produce an ashy taste.
If you are experimenting with espresso blends we recommend this bean be used as a base. While it has a wonderful flavor all of its own, the chocolate notes form a good foundation for adding more exotic top notes, especially fruit. Our Kenya AA would be a fine example in this case as it has hints of citrus balanced on smooth deep black current.
